Neil Walker answers:

To calculate this use the equation p(b) = p(c) ∙ p(r), where p(b) is the probability of picking a phone with both of any two particular features; p(c) is the probability of picking a phone of a certain color, and p(r) is the probability of picking a particular ring-tone. Since there are 3 colors, then p(c) = 1/3, and since there are 5 ring-tones, p(r) = 1/5. So the probability of picking both is p(b) = (1/3) ∙ (1/5) = 1/15. So the answer is C.

Math home work help plz find the equation and answer for the calories?

Neil Walker answers:

Let a cup of raisins have x calories. Then, we have:
2*(x+400) + 3*x = 2900
2x + 800 + 3x = 2900
5x = 2100
x = 420

Math home work help plz find the equation and answer for the?

the Eiffel tower is 497 ft. taller then the washington Monument. If each of the monuments we 58 ft shorter, the Eiffel Tower would be twice as tall as the washington Monument. How tall is each?

me125x125 cropped Your questions about math home work help

Neil Walker answers:

hmmmm…a geography question. and a very good question at that. you know…i’ve often wonder the very same thing myself. let’s see…

well…let:
x = washington monument now in feet. so
x + 497 = eiffel tower now in feet

now
x – 58 ft = wm
2(x-58) = et so…

497 + 58 = 555 ft wm
wm = 555 ft
et = 555 + 497 = 1052

and less 58 feet gives
wm = 497 ft
et = 994 ft

how’s that…dead reckoning, mental acuity, sound reasoning, old age.

very good question.

ans: Washington Monument = 555 ft; Eiffel Tower = 1052 ft

good luck.

Math home work help The local newspaper publishes a list of the five most popular radio stations.?

Lisa’s favorite station is not on the list at school she asks two of her friends what their favorite station is, and they both choose lisa’s favorite station should have been on the list.

Explain why lisa’s conclusion is not vaild by giving two reasons why her sample is biased

me125x125 cropped Your questions about math home work help

Neil Walker answers:

Hi,

Her sample is biased because your friends usually tend to be similar to you. Therefore by simply asking your friends, who also listen to country like you, is not a fair and unbiased sampling.

In addition to just talking to her friends, a second reason this sample is biased is that it is a very small sample at a single location and time. I doubt that when they look for trends in the voting this week in Florida’s primary that they will simply ask 2 people both at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. Somehow, I doubt that that sample would adequately reflect all of Florida.

I hope that helps!! icon smile Your questions about math home work help
