Sample cover letter to request projects from a software company?
hi.. I am working in a software company and I need to prepare a letter, requesting companies to share any projects if they have or to have a tie up with us. I have prepared the company profile to send and i need to write the cover letter. Can anyone provide me the format for it or a sample letter which i could see. Will award 10 points for the best answer.

Neil Walker answers:
Personally I believe that letters are great, provided they are written using great punctuation and spelling (always use a spall chocker!). You can find some great guidance for creating letters by reading the resource in the box below, it’s got loads of alternative stuff about job hunting in addition.

Betty asks…
Where can I find a decent sample cover letter for an Internship?
I’m a soon to be 3rd year architecture student who is looking for a summer internship paid or unpaid.
I want to send my resume to some of the local firms but I need help writing a interest letter considering that I don’t have any office expirience, and have little knowledge about CAD software.
I was hoping someone could show me where I can find a good sample letter, or help by giving me some pointers.

Neil Walker answers:
Use google for job related things like this:

Also, pls remember in many fields, the interview means a lot. Search the web, buy a book but make sure you have a hard hitting interview. Order of importance resume > intervie > cover letter. One of my old bosses told me he hardly ever reads cover letters except to check for mispelled words. He said they all look the same anyway but maybe that’s just for that field.

Compose two different sample letters–a cover letter to include with your resume and either an acceptance or rejection letter.

Neil Walker answers:
Acceptance letters
—————
Acceptance letters are written not only as a form of courtesy to inform somebody of your acceptance, but in some cases, they may be mandatory as well.
Acceptance letters must be courteous and gracious.
Obviously, the letter has to state your acceptance, be it a job or a school admission acceptance letter.

Daniel asks…
Where can I find a sample cover letter?
Does anyone know a link to a site where I can look at some sample cover letters?

Neil Walker answers:
A resume without a good cover letter makes little or no impact and will probably land up unread. A personalized cover letter that highlights your suitability for the job will get the employer’s attention and ensure that your resume gets serious consideration.
