How do I install a secondary internal SATA hard drive on my desk top computer?
I am not very technically minded. I know how to connect the cables, but apart from that?? Can anyone help?

Unplug the computer, open the case and choose a free 3.5″ slot for the hard-drive. Mount it however your case requires, connect the power and SATA cable, close the case, plug it in, turn it on. That should be all there is to it.

How do I clean a leather topped desk?
My round desk is approximately 80 years old and has a red leather top which has faded over the years and has some ingrained dirt. I am very wary of damaging the leather and the gold leaf embossing round the edges. There are also 2 slight water stains from years ago. Any help appreciated.

You need to use a good water based cleaner and leather protector to generally look after this type of leather. Do not use wipes, baby wipes, furniture polish, or anything containing waxes, oils or silicones otherwise you are likely to damage your leather.
The water stains will not clean out as the type of leather is an aniline which is very absorbent and whatever was spilt has been soaked in and will not come out. As your leather is an aniline it has also faded. You can get aniline restoration kits but due to the gold leaf edging it may be better to let a qualified technician do the work. Using a good Leather Protector (NOT a conditioner) may help to enhance the colour.
Please do not use shoe polish or any other type of colour (especially those on internet sites) as they are likely to ruin the finish on the leather.

How do you get a cigarette smell out of a wood desk?
We got a very nice solid wood desk from someone who smokes. We kept in on the enclosed porch for about a week to air out, cleaned it up, and brought it in. I think it smells like stale cigarettes still. It’s gross, but I don’t want to get rid of the desk. I‘m hoping someone knows of a cool product or home remedy type thing to maybe get rid or mask the smell forever! HELP!

How do I get the smell of cigarette smoke out of a wooden desk?
I just purchased a used home office desk. It is solid wood. I didn’t realize that it smelled so badly of cigarette smoke until it was delivered and is now sitting in my non-smoking house. Would Murphy’s Oil Soap work? I would appreciate help as I really like the desk but I will not be able to keep it if I can’t eliminate the odor.

Since there is probably a “film” of smoke on the desk, use the Murphy’s Oil Soap on the exterior, and inside of drawers, and when dry, Place a newspaper with charcoal briquetes on it, in the drawers and change them every few days. They will absorb the odor and leave it smelling clean and fresh.
It’s what I did and it worked perfectly.

My desk chair starts to smell like ass after a while. How do I get rid of that smell? It’s leather, so it’s double-bad–half ass , half wet leather smell. Does anybody else have this problem? Help!
