In this article I am going to discuss five steps in finding a niche to blog about. If you are interested in niche marketing or just interested in finding various topics to post about, this article is for you
Before I start, I want to write a few words on what niche blogging is. It is really what it sounds like: blogging about a niche. Often times Niche Blogging is something done for the purpose of selling a specific product in a niche (e.g. dog training manual). Also, you yourself can be the product as you develop yourself as an expert in a niche (e.g. real estate flipping). For many people who want to make money online blogging, Niche Blogs and Niche Product Blogs are a great way to start. For some people who are dedicated to hobbies, writing a blog about your hobby is another way to Niche Blog. That being said, this article will help you not just find new Niches but also how to determine if the Niche you want to be in will be a good one for blogging.
Okay, without further delay, here are five things to think about to help you find a great niche to start a blog about!
First: It is a good idea if there is already money being spent in that niche. Money being spent usually means a niche which is desirable and will get traffic whether or not you plan to monetize your blog. While some people want to try and create something brand new, Niche Blogging is more about what has already shown to work. If there is money in the niche, your Niche Blog is a way of being able to stick your hand in that flow of money.
Second: Figure out if you have a product or service that has value in that niche market. Niche Blogging and Niche Marketing is about providing products and services. Therefore, even if you find a good niche, you will want to make sure that you can then provide something of value (for free or for sale) to all those people who are interested. This is one reason affiliate products are popular: you can find products that are already being sold and either sell the same product or improve upon it and sell a new one.
Third: make sure you have a clear idea of what you want to do and focus on it. Many niche marketers fail because they do not have a plan or a clear idea of what they want to do and instead just throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks. There is an overabundance of information in niche marketing and internet marketing and being able to block out the distractions and focus and do your thing on a daily basis is to focus and do.
Fourth: Be interested in your niche. The internet is funny because it is basically throwing things out into the world and you have no idea after that what is going on. Being passionate and interested in your niche helps you get through those times because during the times when all else fails, at least you are having fun with your niche market
Fifth: stay away from niche marketing ideas that are over saturated. You want to try to give yourself a reasonable opportunity to be successful. That cannot happen if you are too busy competing in markets that are incredibly saturated and busy with a lot of competitors.
And those are my five things to think about when picking a niche to blog in and market in. Overall, niche marketing can be a bit tricky and it just takes time and experience and trial and error to figure out what works best for you. Just remember to look for all five factors: find a niche with buyers and action, find a good product or service to provide, be ready to do the daily tasks, make sure it is something you’re interested in, and give yourself a reasonable chance to succeed.
The fortunate thing about online businesses is that they cost next to nothing to start, especially compared to a regular storefront business. So you will have many opportunities to fail in between all your successes. Just keep in mind all of these factors for choosing your niche markets. The more times you try, the higher your potential income will be from all the sites you put up. Keep this all in mind and hey, what are you waiting for? Go and research those niches and start a blog now!
