What Is Multi-level Marketing Sponsoring?

MLM sponsoring refers to the recruiting and guiding of new multi-level marketers in order to grow a home business as a network marketer and increase revenues over time. In addition to making sales to clients, sponsoring new recruits is critical to the success of the multi-level marketing business process. By carefully and strategically mentoring and guiding new recruits, a MLM business can continue to expand its network of influence, carry in more sales and improve the earnings of all on the team.

MLM sponsoring uses the main principles of network marketing and continual lead generation. Getting in touch with more people and finding those who are sincerely interested in owning a business are the primary activities of the profitable network marketer. Making sure that everyone brought onto the group has the support and guidance needed to also become successful is part of the MLM sponsoring process.

In many cases, MLM sponsoring also includes making a financial contribution to help new network marketers afford the investment needed to get started. This can be in the form of waiving a portion of the sign-on fee, helping with providing supplies and marketing materials, or directly sponsoring a new recruit with the expectation that a certain amount of sales will be generated through the first few months that the new recruit is on board. In addition, the sponsor will provide training and shadowing opportunities to the new MLM marketer so that he will be successful early on.

MLM sponsoring is important because many new network marketers stumble all through the first few weeks or months following their initial sign-up. This happens for a variety of reasons, such as a lack of genuine interest, a shortage of funds, not enough time committed to the business, poor support and training opportunities, or a lack of solid leads. When a sponsor gets involved, the new recruit becomes the direct responsibility of the sponsor, therefore all of the above issues can be resolved instantly.

Having an MLM sponsor means having a person to be responsible to from the beginning, which can produce much better results as a network marketer. Many people are accustomed to having a supervisor or a manager to report to versus being completely on their own as a business owner. By using a similar system, MLM sponsoring takes the place of a superior and can produce a set of expectations that must be met in order to generate sales and produce more leads which will grow the business for the entire team.

The marketing style you choose for your new business is critical. It will be one of the determining factors in the success of your business. Choose carefully!

I started in Network marketing in 1998. At that time most people in the business used marketing techniques such as contacting friends, work associates, and family to promote the business. We also gave business cards to everyone we could, we put flyers on cars and more. The vast majority of contacts we made were completely uninterested in our product or business. It was very nonproductive and resulted in a lot of rejection.

Marketing to strangers, family, and friends is a marketing style I rarely use now. There are some limited situations in which I will approach people who have not come to me first. My MLM business works with the Travel industry. It is naturally appealing to people already in the business. I have had good success when I present the business to Travel agents or others already involved with travel and tours. Aside from this I usually do not do any cold calling.

Now I use the system of marketing known as Attraction Marketing. Most of this marketing is done on the Internet and this makes it much more powerful and efficient. The Internet gives you access to people almost everywhere and also give you the ability to work from almost anywhere. It’s this freedom and the ability to give others this freedom that makes Network marketing great. Using the Internet also reduces the probability that you will be affected by economic problems in your area.

Basic Attraction Marketing

Attraction Marketing is a system of elements that makes people aware of your business and in the process, generates some income for you, while at the same time selects out the individuals who will be most likely to succeed in your business. The majority of this is done on “autopilot”, so you are able to bring many more people through the system than was possible using older techniques. The other, and really most important aspect of Attraction Marketing is personal branding. You must become and present yourself as an expert and leader in the field you represent. This system does that for you. Remember that in MLM people do not join your business, they join YOU! When you have established this system and branded yourself, you will have qualified prospects knocking on your door.

The elements that make up the system create awareness of you and sell your product. So, your job becomes selling the system and letting the system sell the products.

Imagine that your Marketing system is a wheel and the elements of the system are the spokes and hub of the wheel. ( there are variations on this but this is what I prefer) The hub of the wheel is your personal web site or blog. The spokes are the tools and techniques that bring prospects to your site. MLM has been around in Singapore for over 30 years now and previously was frowned upon. However, the market is changing and a lot of young professionals are starting to warm up and get involved with this dynamic industry.

There is no surprise there as the MLM industry has become more and more advanced over the years. Let’s see why so many people are attracted to this business.

The biggest draw of this business is the potential to generate large amounts of income. Coupled with the ability to leverage off other people’s efforts and generate multiple streams of income, no wonder people are excited.

Why? Because of its structure and the fact that the remuneration is commission only and is based on performance. The second reason is that it allows the average Singaporean to get out of the corporate rat race. This is huge! Especially in a country where most graduates strive to go corporate, it is a release from the clutches of a modern capitalist society. And of course is also a release from the suit, the politics, the 6 day week and your tiny 3 foot cubicle.

But really, these reasons boil down to two main things – time and freedom. Time to actually enjoy the truckloads of money you worked so hard to make and financial freedom to actually enjoy all that life has to offer.

So we know that MLM is getting very popular and you can make lots of money. Well what about the success rate? Unfortunately the success rate in this business is a measly 3%. That means that 97% of all people that try MLM fail. This is a worldwide statistic and is not isolated to just Singapore. So why is that?

Well, unfortunately most big MLM companies are still stuck in the stone age and train their distributors on the most out of date prospecting techniques. They tell you to make a list of 50 to 100 people you know and go out there are pitch your amazing opportunity. And once you run out of friends and family to speak to, they tell you to cold call, buy crappy leads online and pitch anything with a pulse! Sound familiar?

So it isn’t a surprise that most people end up failing when such ineffective recruitment methods are being taught. It is this very training and traditional methods of marketing of this business that has put a lot of people in a bad position. But is there a better way? Absolutely! Since we are in the modern age, we really should be maximizing the use of current forms of communication and avenues to reach our audience. We need to broaden our scope and use tools like the Internet to reach an international audience and not just people in Singapore.

People also need to focus on marketing so that they can “attract” people towards their business instead of prospect where they are constantly having to “chase” people around. And isn’t it time you stopped hassling your poor friends and family? At this rate, you will have none left!

So success in a Singaporean MLM has nothing to do with the company or the product. At the end of the day there are many good companies out there and unless it is a cure for cancer, it is YOU that still needs to sell the business. Therefore learning how to “MARKET” yourself and the business using modern day tools, is really the key to success in this industry.
